Dr. Heather McQueen, Ph.D.

Well-Being & Lifestyle Consultant | MindBody Integration | Authentic Empowerment & Resilience

Dr. McQueen is a doctoral-level consultant specializing in holistic well-being, emotional intelligence, authenticity, motivation, life satisfaction, and embodied well being practices. Her research and work focus on supporting individuals and/or groups in cultivating presence, resilience, meaning, and empowered self-expression for a fulfilling and well-aligned life.

She brings extensive experience across diverse mental health states and life circumstances, including communication and conflict resolution, crisis intervention, comorbidity, curriculum and program development, and strategic implementation in wellness and educational contexts. Her approach integrates Western psychological frameworks with international well-being traditions, movement-based practices, and conscious life philosophies.

Dr. McQueen has over 30+ years of combined experience in MindBody integration and personal empowerment, including 24+ years of facilitating Dance and Neuromuscular Integrative Action (NIA). She is also a Certified Yoga Instructor with additional training in the Lunar Arts and has served as an appointee and Vice President of the Colorado Governor’s Council for Active and Healthy Lifestyles and as Adjunct Faculty for undergraduate students.

Her interests include lifelong learning, creativity, intrinsic motivation, meaning-making, resilience, authenticity, cross-cultural perspectives, holistic well-being, and growth-oriented consulting. She has presented nationally and internationally on topics including integrative authenticity, well-being, and integrative movement practices, motivational interviewing, mental health stigma, natural approaches to mood and cognitive health, and somatic-centered therapeutic practices.

Dr. McQueen’s boutique consultancy offers personalized collaboration grounded in respect, curiosity, and empowerment. Through a multidimensional approach that blends research-based practices with embodied awareness and insight, clients learn to regulate the nervous system, expand emotional and somatic intelligence, deepen self-understanding, communicate effectively and navigate life with clarity, balance, and purpose. Her work supports the development of competence, autonomy, meaningful connection, and joy.

On a Personal Note

Heather has lived, worked, and traveled internationally across South America, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and Australia. She has been active in Salsa, Tango, and NIA communities and has taught movement, wellness, and embodied practices for both children and adults. Her personal journey in healing and transformation informs her deep belief in the body's capacity to restore balance and vitality when supported with knowledge, practice, and compassionate presence.
